InstaFind: Flat Whites for $2 at Two Guns Espresso

Sep 14, 2018 02:17PM ● By Liz Spear
Speak some Maori and you'll land a $2 flat white through Sunday, Sept. 16 at all Two Guns Espresso locations, including Two Guns Kitchen in El Segundo.

What is Maori and why speak it? Maori is the language used by New Zealand's indigenous people and is one of three official languages in the country. Its revival is a case study in the decline and subsequent revival of an indigenous language.

Due to its Kiwi origins (Two Guns' owners Andrew “Stan” Stanisich and Craig Oram are native New Zealanders), Tourism New Zealand contacted the Two Guns team and the Maori Language Week Flat White special was born.

Now through Sunday, "Try ordering your flat white in Maori" and you'll get Two Guns' famous signature coffee drink for $2. And, in keeping with Two Guns' tradition of making life easy and comfortable, they have in-store signs to aid you with "Ka kite ano."

"We are so happy with how our customers have already embraced ordering their flat white in Maori. We thought it was a really fun way to bring some of our New Zealand culture to the cafes," said Natalie Stanisich of Two Guns, noting that Two Guns has provided coffee at Tourism New Zealand events.

Two Guns' amazing flat white consists of two shots of espresso covered with velvety steamed milk, or micro-foam, minus the froth.

Two Guns, which opened its first location in Goat Hill at 350 N. Sepulveda Blvd., Manhattan Beach in 2011, just opened two more locations: 3516 Highland Ave., MB and 360 N. Pacific Coast Hwy., El Segundo. In 2014, Two Guns opened in downtown Los Angeles at 601 S. Figueroa Street. And in 2016, the Tow Guns Kitchen opened in downtown El Segundo at 321 Main Street.
