Manhattan Beach Police Launch Facebook Page

Mar 07, 2016 10:19AM ● By Liz Spear
The Manhattan Beach Police Department has launched a Facebook page "in a continuing effort to enhance community engagement," according to a press release.

The page will offer a mix of information, including news stories, press releases, safety alerts, information on department programs such as Nixle and Neighborhood Watch, and police department-related events.

"Joining Facebook and participating in social media is another way for MBPD to interact with our community in a meaningful way," said Chief of Police Eve R. Irvine.

MBPD’s Facebook presence is intended to complement the department’s existing Nixle communication tool, launched in October 2013. MBPD has reached over 8,000 subscribers through Nixle and "looks forward to expanding communication efforts through Facebook."

Connect with MBPD on Facebook at www.facebook.com/manhattanbchpd.

The Hermosa Beach Police Department maintains a Facebook page, as does the City of Redondo Beach's police department.
